Easy Gluten Free Pizza Dough (Makes 2 Crusts)

By

Good gluten free pizza is hard to find and if you can find it, it often comes at a premium price. With a few ingredients, a bread machine and a good non-stick pizza pan this recipe makes two great 13" round crusts.

Combine the following dry ingredients in bowl or bag:
1 ½ cups Brown Rice Flour
2/3 cup Potato Starch
2 tsp Sugar
3 tsp Xanthan Gum
3 tsp Bread Machine Yeast
1 tsp Salt
2 tsp your favorite herb (I love oregano and sometimes basil)

Set dry ingredients aside.

Pour into Bread Machine baking pan:
1½ cups Water
2 Tbs Vegetable Oil
2 tsp Cider Vinegar

Select the Dough Cycle on your bread machine and add in dry ingredients gradually scraping sides with a rubber spatula to ensure all ingredients get combined. Allow bread machine to knead the dough. Stop your bread machine as soon as kneading is done (mine takes about 40 minutes).

Using your rubber spatula spread half of the dough onto you non-stick pizza pan or a well greased pizza pan if yours is not non-stick. Let rise for 15 mins while oven preheats to 400.

Bake 12-15 mins and either top and bake for an additional 12-15 mins at 400 or wrap and freeze to top and bake another time.

In my area, I saw that a local restaurant was offering gluten-free pizza, and as excited as I was to actually have pizza again, the price was over 15 dollars for a personal size. This recipe will hopefully get me the pizza flavors I've been missing for a much, much more affordable price. Thanks for the hub!

Looks yummy but I don't have a bread machine! Do you think it's possible to make it by hand?

Yes this recipe does work by hand. I would mix thoroughly and just allow 40 minutes for it to rise in a bowl before it goes onto the pan and all wet ingredients should be at room temperature.
